Out of this World Counselor

Home » Blog » Out of this World Counselor

by Cheryl · In: Blog, Comfort · on Aug 15, 2010

In storms, we need someone who’s going to assess our situation with honesty and fairness.  Someone who’s going to perfectly love, understand and guide us.

Knowing this, Jesus did something about it:

[box] “In my distress I called to the LORD, and he answered me. From deep in the realm of the dead I called for help, and you listened to my cry.” Jonah 2:2[/box]

Thank you, Father, that You never leave me.

Thank you for your Counselor who gives me truth and peace.

Counselor, thank you for welcoming me in Your presence.  Patiently…

You download hope, fanning my spirits as mysteriously as angel wings.

You listen like no other.  You know how I tick and what ticks me.  Still you love me.

May I listen to you as you listen to me.

May I seek You first.  Always.

Take my aches, dry my tears, calm my thoughts, still my fears.

I seek to understand You back, to forgive others the way you forgive me.

Perfect, ever-present, Holy Counselor…

Thank you for everything.

In Jesus’ name.  Amen

Where exactly will we be as christians without His help. I have experienced the folly of trying to do things my way. I didn’t like the results! Then i learnt to let Him teach and direct me. Amazing results. He helps even to the smallest detail of everyday living. My favourite is that He makes God real and alive to me. I don’t have religion that is boring, now i have a relationship with my heavenly Father, the creator of all the universe – Jesus Christ.
    Thank you Holy Spirit.

Amen! Akin! I like how you recognize that “He helps even to the smallest detail of everyday living.” So true. What would we do without Him?
